Yokohama

The possibilty for a rainy day was 99%. Tokyo Sealife Park is closed on wednesdays so that was really bad timing and I did this earlier. So what should I do on a rainy day in Japan? So why not taking a stroll in Yokohama. Japans biggest harbour city which is less than one hour by train?

Done like I said. Looked up what trains I have to use and than off we go.
Exploring Japan by train is, knowing how much to pay, a piece of cake. I thought it would be more painful since I heard of so many foreigners getting lost before they’ve done their first step. Luckily I found this website. This site sure saved my days. A lot of signs are written in hiragana and romaji since the football worldcup 2002, but not every time table so it is hard for someone not knowing all Kanji to proceed in Japan smoothly.
If they change all signs and maybe the menus at restaurants it is going to be alot easier for tourists,
But I drifted astray. Yokohama is the topic.
There wasn’t a special menu for Yokohama. I just wanted to explore the city and see whats going to happen.
Thats why this time there will be more pictures and less text. But thats probably what you want anyway.

Bow of Nippon Maru.

A very lovely sailing ship.

P1020441

The Nippon Maru once was a sailing school ship before it was turned into a museum.

I once had a modell of it but never finished the work.

In Japan you can even buy sweat in bottles and cans. I think tastes delicious.
Helpful if you took a nap under a tree and your boss at the construction site checks you. Always carry a can of sweat around you!

There is always space for nature. Even if humans arranged it by themselves.

This seastar and a lot of other figures are build with little white stones.

Several dolphins made of pearls! Incredible nobody has stolen them so far.

This mascot seems to be a mix of a flower and a ship.

There wasn’t a single rain drop the whole day. At least not where I was. But this is the evidence that it did rain earlier this day or at night.

Art is always ok to brighten up some places.

I love those “everything goes” crossings. I want them to be in Germany too!

A hawaiian restaurant with some fire.

Tokyo is on the same latitude as Kreta. And Yokohama is in the south of Tokyo. So isn’t it obvious that there exists some palm trees in Japan?

And here is the evidence. Where shadow is there is sun. 99% rain probability my ass.
Well, it did raind at the end. Not only rain but lighting and thunder as well. But it all started around 19:00, after I returned to my hotel room.
