Speed☆Star

A long time ago Voice Actress and Idol Aya Hirano released her 2nd studio album. I always wanted to do the review but I forgot to do it. Just when I started to write the review for Ayumi Hamasakis 12th studio album release “Love Songs” I remembered that I need to write the review for “Speed Star”.
So this album was released in 2009 at the 18th of November and it contains a total of 13 tracks.
- stereotype ~inst~
- Super Driver
- Sing a Song!
- OH! My Darlin’
- Kiss me
- 水たまり (mizutamari)
- あの花のように (Ano Hana no Yoni)
- アイシテ! (Aishite!)
- VOXX
- Set me free
- LocK-oN
- スピード☆スター (Speed Star)
- Unnamed world
The Limited DVD edition additionally contains the Music Clip of the song スピード☆スター. Not more not less.
All in all Hiranos 2nd album release is more popish and with faster tracks. Less ballads than Riot Girl and with more songs like LOVE★GUN which was my fave on her debut album. The most famous song on this release would be Super Driver which was the Opening Song of the second season of 涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱 or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. And it is together with Set me free my most favorite track on this disc.
Another thing that I really like about this CD is, that there only is one filler song and that would be the intro.
All other tracks are full tracks with an average length of 4 minutes. If I compare this with the one or other Ayumi Hamasaki release this makes me really really happy.
But if there is sun there is shadow. The limited DVD edition only has one track and that is a music clip of Speed☆Star. That can’t be true at all! One has to pay more money for a w/ DVD edition and the customer only gets one bonus clip? Thats a bad joke and if her 3rd album release has the same problem I will stick with the normal version.
But the funniest thing is, that Aya announced a Best of Aya Album. It may sounds funny because of the fact that she just released two full studio albums so far but what you need to know is, that she has sung a whole lot of character songs and therefore she has a huge repertoire to burn onto the Best of Release. I am curious what songs we will get on this future release.
