School Diary Part 9
November 6th, 2008 00:40 in Learning japanese
Why Party 9? Here you can read why (in german only).
So it is already the ninth day of classes and only 6 more to go. 9 days of classes means 13 1/2 hours of learning japanese. That doesn’t seem to be much but we accomplished even less.
New lesson, new introduction text, new dialogue. And we have our first verb. Ok we did learn desu but I don’t count desu as real verb ^^
We learned the verb “miseru” which means to show. But we didn not have it in its dictionary form but in its te-kudasai form. Meaning “misete kudasai” or in english “please show me“.
And we learned two new particles. “o” and “mo“. Finally some real grammar
And we learned also the meaning of “kore“, “sore” and “are“.
“kore” – this one; refers to a thing that is close to the speaker
“sore” – that one: refers to a thing close to the listener
“are” – that one (over there): refers to a thing that is neither close to the speaker nor the listener
The remaining exercises were all based on this “kore“, “sore” and “are” and asking for the price. Together with this we learned higher numbers as well. We learned numbers until 100 Billion. Numbers a tourist would never use. And even if you live in Japan I doubt that you need them in everyday life. Numbers are a bit different in japanese and get some special cases for pronunciation. But that is just learning.
But I see that now everybody get fluent in reading hiragana and we get to the next stage faster than before. Still not able to finish a whole lesson in one day because there are new things not everybody gets the hang of in an instant. But that’s ok. At least everybody knows all the hiragana symbols.
But I do not think that I will also attend the following course and instead will look for japanese classes with a japanese teacher.
