Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus

A few months ago, in april to be exact, Ayumi Hamasaki released her newest Studio Album called Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus. And I thought I should finally review it here with the information that her new album is released in december.
As the title suggests it is a Rock Album. Not.
Japanese Album titles are often exaggerated. The CD sure has some rock tracks but as every Ayu Release she has some ballads as well.
This time I bought the DVD edition. Mainly because I like the cover more than the CD only version. In addition I got a picture booklet from her photoshoot in London. There are some really nice pictures in it but when I tried to take some pictures they did not turn out well.
There are 15 tracks on all versions:
- THE introduction
- Microphone
- count down
- Sunset -LOVE is ALL-
- BALLAD
- Last Links
- montage
- Don’t look back
- Jump!
- Lady Dynamite
- Sexy little things
- Sunrise -LOVE is ALL-
- meaning of Love
- You were …
- RED LINE -for TA-[album version]
The album as a whole is once again a good one. But not everything about an Ayu album is packed with gold. Once again the buyer gets filler tracks which are just annoying and a waste of time. I buy a CD to hear the singer/songstress and not to listen to instrumental tracks. So THE introduction, montage and Jump! are tracks I skip when listening to the CD.
But overall I really like the CD because there are a lot of tracks I enjoy listening to. Microphone, BALLAD, Lady Dynamite, Sexy little things, Sunrise -LOVE is ALL- and meaning of Love are tracks I could listen to the whole day. Even tough soem of them are ballads.
If you are one lucky person, you can see Ayus PVs on her official youtube channel.
When I ordered it from CDJapan, my trusted shop for music from Japan, I also got a special poster. I was really happy to recieve it.
