Love songs

Just as I mentioned before Ayumi Hamasaki released her 12th studio album at the end of december and I preordered it.
Her newest release is now 1 month “old” and contains a total of 16 songs. A few new and a few already known because of her Single releases.
The track list is following:
- Love song
- crossroad
- MOON
- sending mail
- Last angel
- insomnia
- Like a doll
- Aria
- blossom
- Thank U
- Sweet Season
- overture
- do it again
- November
- Virgin Road
- Bonus Track: SEVEN DAYS WAR
16 songs sounds good so far but as we already know from older reviews Ayumi tends to tease us with introduction songs and a lot of filler tracks. There are three filler songs which would be insomnia, Aria and overture. This time the first track on this disc is no introduction track but a full song. That’s a good thing but on the other side there is the song do it again which is a nearly 6 minutes long song where Ayu repeats the phrases “dance dance dance do it again” and “sing sing sing do it again”. Ok there are normal lyrcis in the song too but over half of the time she repeats the phrases I mentioned. I think its really annoying.
As the Album name makes one guess this is full of songs about love. And of course songs about love can’t be hardcore rockish or fast as hell. But to be honest this still is a good album even if you don’t normally like Ayus ballads but songs like Rule, ALTERNA, 1Love, evolution or AUDIENCE.
Virgin Roads is a really nice song but my most favorite of this CD would be sending mail. Well maybe because it is one of the faster tracks.
If you are really lucky you can see a lot of Ayus official music videos on her youtube channel.
Unfortunately her videos are blocked for visitors from Germany. If you know a way to watch her videos even tough they are blocked please give me a short notice in the comments.
I liked Next Level and Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus better but Love songs is still a good album. It is her 12th full album release and therefore she isn’t inventing the wheel once again but it is her lovely voice that strikes the point. And she is one of the cutest songstress I know! Can’t believe she is already 32 and marrying soon!
Lyrics of her newest and her older releases can be found here.
Give Ayu your thanks in purchasing one of her CDs over at CDJapan.
