After hearing about the magazine Hir@gana Times over at Nihongo Notes and Tasty Miso, I decided to subscribe this magazine as well. The Hir@gana Times is a monthly based magazine about Japan. It contains different topics about our favourite land of the rising sun. We get an in depth view of the japanese landscape, events, tour guides, typical japanese stuff and recipes for food.

The magazine is mainly focused for those who like to learn japanese.

All articles are written in english and japanese changing after each paragraph. That way you can check if you understood the japanese version after reading.
And if you are just interested in the article itself and don’t want to struggle to understand the japanese you can only read the english version.
Another extremly useful section is the detailed view of the japanese language structure. There are a few pages looking like in the picture above. First you get the english paragraph followed by the japanese version.I think you already got that. But this time the japanese text is written for different study levels.

In Kana only, in a english translated version with japanese sentence structure and a Kanji version. That way one can learn some Kanji and how japanese sentences look like and the way they are build.

The magazine even as a page with a Visa question. The question is answered by an expert in immigration law so it is really good stuff for people who want to live and work in Japan.

If you want to get this magazine as well, you can go and subscribe at the website of the Hir@gana Times.
The cheapest Version will cost you 10,000 Yen for a year, which means 12 magazines, per year. Which is roughly around 80 EUR. This includes shipping as well.

There launched a website by the Japan Times which is a must see for Tokyo Fans around the world. The Tokyo.Japan Times.

If you love Tokyo and want to dream of being there you can browse the photos that members are uploading.

And if you have visited Tokyo so far or are living there right now and have a bunch of pictures somewhere on your HDD do not hesitate and upload some of them. Tokyo is an awesome city with different facets. You get the busy megacity life as well as relaxing parks and temples. And for lovers of this city it is always nice to see how other people experience Tokyo and how they snap a piece of the city in a single picture.
