Desire Z

Since my old cellphone, a Sony Ericsson w200i, started to bitch and tells me to insert a SIM card even tough I didn’t do anything to it, I finally decided to buy a new phone. Since it was announced sometime in September last year I think, I fell in love with the Desire Z from HTC.
Yesterday I got my new toy and I already played a lot with it.
This my first Smartphone and the possibilities are huge and I really love it.
A friend of mine got one, too. And he said it is worth its money and I can say: Yes he is right and I don’t regret buying this phone.
the specs are the following:
- 9.4cm super-responsive touchscreen
- hardware QWERTZ-keyboard
- 800 MHz CPU Speed
- 512 MB RAM
- 1.5 GB Internal storage
- 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash
- 720p HD video recording
- 8GB Micro SD Card
- 119 x 60.4 x 14.16 mm
- 180 grams
- HTCSense.com
I won’t say anything about connectivity or network since I don’t understand such stuff.
The phone comes with a few paper thingies explaining warranty stuff and quick guide stuff. Also one gets a headset to hear music or makeing calls with the device, an USB cabel and an adapter to charge the phone in the socket.
7 customisable screens to modify the phone to ones need. You can place apps, widgets and folders on those screens and are easily able to switch between them.
An integrated flashlight app. Nice tool indeed.
Anki is also available on Android phones and studying my dekcs on the go was something I really wanted to have.
Bijin-tokei also has an Android App. Thought they only support iPhones. The bad thing about the Android Version is, that it can not be used as a widget and if you want to see the beautiful girls you have to run the app 27/7. Improveable!
FriendStream shows updates from every social network one registered. I only follow twitter and flickr but facebook can be used as well.
Surfing the net and writing tweets, blog entries and mails is a piece of cake with the keyboard and is a lot of fun. I tried the touchscreen keyboard as well and I must say it is only worth to use it when typing numbers.
I am really glad I decided to buy the Desire Z instead of the Desire HD or even an iPhone.
