The Japanese Language Proficiency Test, JLPT for short, took place a few days ago in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The JLPT is a test to evaluate the proficiency of the japanese language and is held twice a year. One in summer and one in winter. The participants can choose one of 5 different levels with N5 being the easiest and N1 being the most difficult one. The japanese government planned to use the JLPT certificates in regards of long and permanent resident visas in 2008 but I am not up to date if this is already in process or kicked into the trash can.

After the last JLPT mission in 2009, which I failed, I decided to give it another try this year.
I haven’t learned much ever since for a year but recently I removed the dust from my textbook and finally became friends with Anki.

So once again I bought a useful supply for my japanese language studies. The Ultimate Japanese Phrasebook which I bought from amazon. As the cover says it contains 1800 sentence for each kind of everday situation and a free CD with mp3 files to listen to the phrases. What kind of phrases the buyer gets I will tell later on.

Today I got my application sheets for the JLPT thats going to be held at the 6th of december this year.

Since I am not a university student and currently not attending any language school or something I am going to challenge myself with the easiest stage. The stage 4.

I think this will be a good challenge for myself. Unfortunately, only 550 people are allowed to take the test in Düsseldorf.Those who apply first will get a seat. Hope I get one too.

Why Party 9? Here you can read why (in german only).

So it is already the ninth day of classes and only 6 more to go. 9 days of classes means 13 1/2 hours of learning japanese. That doesn’t seem to be much but we accomplished even less.
