animagic 2010

So it is this time of year again and the animagic 2010 was held in Bonn. Me and two of my comrades got our tickets and spent two wonderful but exhausting days at this con. The picture above is recycled from last year. I didn’t want to shoot another one of the entrance.

I arrived early in Bonn on friday and my two friends picked me up at Bonn Mainstation. From there we moved back to the base – which is Buku’s home – to leave some luggage there. Marvelous arrived there a day earlier than me and together they had some epic gaming moments. A while later we made our move to get some cash from the bank and some stuff for breakfast. We arrived at 13 o’ clock and it was already full of cosplayer.

There was a bunch of really cool cosplayer. For example the 5th Ghostbuster or this Bob from Tekken. Well, he is actually Marvelous_M and he IS Bob!

I was very pleased to see a few cosplays which aren’t standard in Germany. For example this Robin from the One Piece Movie Strong World. Or the Nakano Azusa Listen!!-Version from K-On! Isn’t she cute?

We did play some videogames in the game corner of the exhibition hall and we checked the huge amount of merchandising seller. From the very beginning I had high hopes to buy a certain figure and I really got her. I had to pay nearly 50% more than I had to pay if I got her in her pre-order phase but I didn’t care. But more about her in a seperate entry.

We left the con a bit early cause we wanted to play some games in the base and watch some movies.

A bit after midnight it was time for bed because we had to wake up at 8. We stopped at the bakery to get our breakfast and snacks for the day and head off to the location again.

There we found in my opinion the most surprising Cosplay. Something I never would have thought to see. Dr Elliot Reid from TV series scrubs. And she was so in character. She was really good :)
This Ivankov Cosplay is a surprise too, but not for me. I knew she would be cosplaying as Ivankov and I really hoped to meet her and her friends. The Usopp was one awesome work too.

And I found some more K-On!! Cosplayer. This time from the new ending video “No,Thank You!” This sure were some happy last hours of the animagic 2010 for me.

These two girls are in my opinion the german Haruhi and Mikuru. Each time they visit an event they cosplay in a different outfit. But everytime as Haruhi and Mikuru.

Let’s jump back in time a bit. Around noon we also went into this hall because they had their cosplay competition. They not only show their costumes but also perform in them. There were some funny, some romantic and even some WTF moments. Good and not so good cosplays.
After the competition took a break we left the hall. Played some more games. I looked for Ivan-Chan and then we decided to leave. We were really tired and the programm wasn’t really that interesting for us. And since we had to go back to the base to pick up the rest of our stuff and then return home by train we decided to leave early.

But it sure was a lot of fun and I think next year I will be back.
