animagic 2009

This weekend was the animagic 2009. The anime and manga convention I mentioned in one of my last entries.
And like I said I was there to visit on saturday. The weather was awesome. Sunny all day long and about 25°C at a minimum. If I can believe the internets way over 4000 people were there to visit the convention. Even some people walked by and wanted to get in, but it was sold out.
There were a lot of good cosplayers and I missed the chance to take pictures because I wanted to take them while the most will be on stage for the cosplay competition. But more about that later.
Got back from work at 4:30am and had to leave the house at 7:30am so I decided not to go to sleep. Would have been a bad choice. So I packed all the stuff I needed, ate breakfast and done the things everyone is doing in the morning.
Arriving in Bonn at 9am to meet up with two friends of mine. Buku and Marvelous_M. Heading to the convention area.
For the ticket I showed you you get a badge around your wrist. Just like a VIP. It has a hell of a pain to get it off again. Didnt want to cut it, though.
At around 10:45 we were allowed to enter the hall and my two friends raided the Gaming Zone. Unluckily I missed the chance to get a card for the Arina Tanemura autograph session and in the program guide it was written that you need one to get an autograph. Poor me :’( If I had known beforehand I would have brought my Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne volume 1 Manga with me.
In the hall they showed Anime in two cinema rooms, they had Wii Sport Resort demo stations, a Fan Art Corner, drawing classes, a Go Tourny, a big Selling Area and much more.
They sold a lot of Figures and even health care doujinshi. But nothing was worth buying in my opinion. And they were selling at ridicilous high prices too. Will be cheaper to get the figures I want if I import myself.
My friends spent a lot of money, though.
Besides Arina Tanemura there were a lot of VIP guests. Of course a lot of the german Mangaka were there.
Takashi Okazaki, the creator of Afro Samurai, Kei Ishiyama and Misaho Kujirandou, the Mangaka sisters, Masahiko Minami, the CEO of BONES, Seiji Mizushima, director of Full Metal Alchemist and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Fuminori Kizaki, the director of Afro Samurai.
At noon we headed back to the hall to watch the Cosplay Competition. We sat far away from the stage. Almost the last row. And the lightning wasn’t the best + I am still not 100% used to all the functions of my camera. So please excuse the bad picture quality. After I got home and saw the mess I regreted for not taking more pictures outside.
A Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekisou Cosplay Group. Liked it alot. They performed a self translated Version of God knows.
Didn’t get a nice view on Mikuru :( I heared they were cosplaying the SOS Dan-Girls in Bunny Suits at friday. Damn work I could go there at friday >_<
One of the best parts was definetily this pal. A Wargreymon! Was great performance. Why you ask?
Because of this! Wargreymon against Metalseadramon. Gaia Force!
While he was warp digivolving from Agumon to Wargreymon he lost one of his claws. Was funny :)
But the next contestant was awesome too!
It’s Mothra!
Outside I took a picture of this One Piece Cosplay Group.
The Luffy was really fitting. But the Nico Robin was just wow O.O
I just had to take a picture with her only ^.^
